Ask for a controlled dose verification report tied to the exact device, container, dose range and test conditions. A marketing accuracy statement is not a substitute for evidence.
Request the conditions behind an accuracy claim
An injection pen accuracy statement has little value without the configuration and conditions behind it. Ask which device revision, primary container and test liquid were used, which doses were evaluated and how the measurement system was controlled. Distinguish a nominal dose setting from the delivered quantity and from any clinical outcome. A statement about a mechanism cannot automatically be transferred to a different cartridge or formulation. ISO 11608-1 identifies requirements and test methods for needle-based injection systems, but citing a standard is not evidence that a particular product conforms. Procurement should request the applicable report and its scope. If a report is confidential, agree on a documented review process rather than accepting a certificate logo or an isolated table with no traceable test method or configuration.
Link verification to design changes and release decisions
Dose verification should be connected to the project’s controlled requirements and change process. A new dose increment, modified mechanism, different cartridge component or changed material may affect what evidence is relevant. Ask who evaluates those changes and who can approve release of the commercial configuration. Keep development trials, engineering verification and routine production checks clearly identified; they serve different purposes. A sample that performs well in a demonstration is not proof that every unit or every operating condition has been addressed. For a supplier comparison, use a common evidence checklist and record unresolved questions. The useful outcome is a traceable decision about suitability for a stated application. Avoid ranking pens as best or most accurate when the underlying reports use different doses, containers, conditions or acceptance criteria.

Common questions
Is ISO 11608 a product certification claim?
A reference to a standard is not proof of conformity. Ask for applicable evidence for the exact configuration.
