Build a component checklist around the actual device interface, packaging and handling requirements.
Define the right configuration
Injection pen accessories should be specified against a named device configuration and its intended use. A pen needle, replacement cartridge or carrying case may look compatible while differing in dimensions, connection features or handling requirements. For cartridges, obtain the controlled drawing and information about closures and drug-contact materials. For needles, identify the intended interface, needle gauge and length, and the device manufacturer’s compatibility instructions. A carrying case protects a device physically but is not automatically a validated cold-chain solution. Packaging also needs space for correct product identification and the applicable instructions. Use a component compatibility matrix to record what is verified, what is still proposed and who owns the supporting evidence. Send the device model or drawing reference with your inquiry so that accessories are reviewed as part of the whole delivery system.
